NYAS is also a community Legal Service provider.

NYAS is committed to working towards full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and in particular Article 12 which concerns the right of every young person to be consulted in all matters affecting them.

Our mission statement :"To support children, vulnerable adults, parents and carers to be heard through the provision of confidential and independent advice, information and representation”

NYAS provides a safety net for children and young people and vulnerable adults who have nowhere else to turn.

CARE
LESS
LIVES

Mike Stein

On November 1st NCAS and A National Voice published a new book written by Mike Stein called Care Less Lives. It is about the rights movement of young people in care in England. It relates how, from 1973, young people came together to talk about their care, support each other and campaign to improve their lives in care. From the small beginnings of the Leeds Ad-lib group, the story tells how the word was spread by Who Cares?, the National Association of Young People in Care, Black and In Care, and currently by the campaigns of A National Voice.
