In our daily lives and work, we all use advocacy skills, often without realising it. Utilising advocacy skills in practice can help with meaningful engagement, enabling the children, young people and adults we are supporting (our advocacy partners) to find and amplify their voices.
This course is recommended for frontline practitioners in any care-, health- or education-based setting; parents and parent-practitioners; and young people, all of whom use advocacy skills daily.
Applying advocacy engagement skills enables frontline practitioners, parents and young people to understand how to promote the views, wishes and feelings of our advocacy partners more effectively, empowering them towards self-advocacy. This training explores how to develop effective advocacy engagement techniques, gain confidence navigating complex systems and make informed rights-based decisions.
