NYAS Achieves Bronze Quality Mark for Youth Work in Wales

We are delighted to announce that NYAS Cymru have successfully achieved the Bronze Quality Mark for Youth Work in Wales. This is a huge achievement for our charity, as we have been pursuing this much desired accolade to recognise the excellence and good practice of our youth work provision. 

Striving for Excellence

During the Bronze Quality Mark process, we were had to focus on the quality of our organisation's systems when planning, monitoring, and evaluating our impact across our services in Wales. We are proud to have achieved the first level of this quality mark, celebrating the high-quality of our youth work.

The team at NYAS Cymru have worked hard to demonstrate how NYAS came into being, why we were established and to highlight how our structure of leadership and good governance feeds into the work we do. It was a huge team effort to collate the assessment report, working with several departments to ensure that we were able demonstrate the high quality of our provision. 

The support that we received from Education Workforce Council (EWC) in Wales was extremely beneficial for us, as they were able to meet with us regularly and explain the process in bitesize chunks. We would thoroughly recommend anyone who is considering applying for their Quality Mark to meet with the EWC team and explore the opportunity.

An Opportunity to Reflect and Improve

Partaking in this quality mark process has given us a fresh outlook on the work we do. This has granted us an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the good work that has been achieved by the team in NYAS Cymru. 

It has also given us room to learn and identify areas of improvement. This will allow us to develop our provision as we continue to strive to deliver excellent services to young people across Wales. 

A Team Effort

We would like to extend our gratitude to our partner organisations, who also were part of the assessment process. Many of them were interviewed to discuss NYAS Cymru and how they think we are making a difference to the young people of Wales. 

Finally, the biggest thank you of all is saved for the young people  we work with. This includes our Welsh youth participation groups, who provide invaluable insight and experitsie from their lived experience. Listening to, and amplifying the voices of young people is a core part of N YAS' mission, so we're incredibly grateful to all of the young people we work with for sharing their thoughts, and using their voices to make a change.
