Fundraising Ideas for Charity

When you decide to fundraise for NYAS, you enable us to continue supporting care-experienced young people. Sometimes though, it can be difficult to know how you can fundraise for our cause.

Below, we’ve outlined some of the options you may want to try when you’re looking to support NYAS’ work with care-experienced children and young people. Many of the options are also great virtual fundraising ideas, allowing you to extend the reach of your fundraising efforts.

Organise a Fundraising Event

The best fundraising events are always the ones where people are having fun. So whether you’re going big with a gala evening, or keeping it intimate with a bakesale at your local market, organising a fundraising event is a great way to raise some money for NYAS.

Some other charity event fundraising ideas to support children and young people include:

  • Organising a concert or a karaoke night
  • Running a craft session
  • Planning a party

You can organise a fundraising event on your own, or team up with friends and family to ease the organisation load. However you choose to raise money for NYAS, our friendly fundraising team will be on hand to help you with our expert advice and guidance.

Our NYAS Fundraising Pack has a great checklist that will help you to plan your event and set your goals. This pack also includes advice on how to spread the word about your event too.

Shopping Online

Shopping online is one of the easiest fundraising ideas. Support NYAS every time you shop online at Amazon UK by using Amazon Smile. The best part of this fundraising idea is that it doesn’t cost you a penny extra.

Sign up now at smile.amazon.co.uk and then select NYAS as your chosen charity – Amazon will then donate 0.5% of your qualifying purchases to us. Every small amount helps to fund our activities with care-experienced children and young people.

Game on For NYAS

This virtual fundraising idea is perfect for all of the gamers out there. Channel the power of gaming to fundraise for children and young people in care. Setting up a gaming challenge is a great way to raise money for NYAS. You can personalise your event depending on your goals, so you could raise a small, reliable amount with a group of friends, or reach for higher targets with an open sign up.

Whether you’re battling it alone with a sponsored gaming marathon, or other people are going head to head with a gaming tournament, you’ll be helpling care-experienced young people receive the support they need.

To help you with your planning, the  NYAS Arcade Fundraising Pack has all of the information you need. It includes different event ideas, some financial goals, and ideas for how you can raise money while playing your favourite games!

Give in Celebration

This fundraising idea is perfect if you have a big life event coming up. These moments can be a fantastic opportunity to do some charity fundraising for children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Perhaps you have a wedding or civil partnership ceremony on the horizon, a landmark birthday is coming up, or your retirement collection is approaching. You can make your celebration even more special by asking family and friends for donations to NYAS in lieu of gifts.

You can set up an online fundraising page to get started - this is free to do, and you can use our JustGiving Top Tips to help you create the best page possible.
