Create Your Own Fundraiser:

Feel like your inner event planner is bursting at the seams, or have a challenge you're desperate to take on? Get creative and create your very own fundraiser. This is a great way to get friends and family involved, raising both money and awareness. The best fundraising events are always the ones where people are having fun. How about planning:

  • A craft afternoon – e.g, painting candles or pottery
  • A bingo night
  • A barn dance
  • A quiz
  • A Karaoke night
  • A talent competition
  • A Silent Auction
  • A Games night
  • A Badminton competition

Some ideas to get you started:

  • Take on a personal challenge - Create your very own sponsored challenge. This could be a one-off activity, like shaving your head, or a month-long challenge, like no chocolate for a month.
  • A sponsored sporting challenge such as a long bike ride, run or swim
  • A sponsored team challenge. Take on a 24-hour danceathon, singathon or sports challenge, with one or more person completing the activity at any one time across 24 hours.
  • An individual 24-hour challenge such as a sponsored silence, knitathon, gameathon, or wearing fancy dress for 24 hours straight
  • Face a fear - Are you scared of spiders, or heights or something else? Collect sponsorship to face your fear, e.g. arrange to hold a tarantula for 30 seconds, or take on a Zipline!
  • Take on a one-month challenge. This could be anything from giving up something you love such as chocolate, wearing a funky facial hair look, or a walking five miles every day for a month.
  • A one-off challenge – Brave the shave and cut off your hair or take on an adrenaline fuelled fun activity such as cold plunge or do a skydive!

You can set up an online fundraising page with JustGiving- this is free to do. Simply visit JustGiving to get started. Use our JustGiving Top Tips to help you create the best page possible.

Or you can set up a celebration fundraiser via Facebook. Open your Facebook profile, click to create a post, choose ‘Raise Money’, and search The National Youth Advocacy Service.
