What do we do?
As a leading children’s rights charity in England and Wales, NYAS wants to make sure all Governments are putting children and young people at the heart of any policy and decision making.
As political parties share their visions for the future in the run-up to elections, it is essential to understand how they plan to support some of our most vulnerable individuals, making sure they have the support and opportunities needed to thrive. NYAS will always be on the side of the child and our priority in any election will always be to make sure children and young people are given every opportunity possible to thrive and enjoy their childhoods, now and in the future.
UK General Election 2024
Following the announcement of a General Election on July 4th 2024, NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) published our Election Manifesto. Our manifesto outlined four key objectives that are critical to advancing children’s rights and we called on the next UK Government to demonstrate their commitment to building a future where every care-experienced child and young person can thrive.

Senedd Elections 2026
As the priorities for the next programme of Government are set, NYAS Cymru want to ensure the continued advancement of children and young people’s rights are achieved, and make sure all children and young people in Wales are given every opportunity to thrive.
All policy makers should make sure that children and young people have their voices embedded at the most senior levels of our Government. NYAS Cymru’s vision is for Wales to be a place where all children and young people, feel part of a country that protects and upholds their human rights.
Our Manifesto identifies four clear priorities that we believe must be at the heart of the next Welsh Government to make sure every child and young person in Wales has a happy and healthy life.
