NYAS Cymru is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Taith funding to take our advocacy to the world stage with major visits across the world. This groundbreaking opportunity will see care-experienced young people from Wales engaging directly with international youth organisations and UN agencies, promoting NYAS Cymru’s vital work and learning from global best practices in child advocacy and human rights.

Taith (Welsh for journey) is an international learning exchange programme that creates opportunities to learn around the world and improve access for people from underrepresented groups. Funded by the Welsh Government, the project forges life-changing experiences for young people in Wales. NYAS Cymru was successful in securing funding from Taith, allowing us to take our young people on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

NYAS Cymru will be hitting the streets of New York, Geneva, and Edinburgh in 2025 and 2026 to learn about advocacy on a global scale. We hope to meet with key organisations to uncover international practices and share our own processes from Wales. The young people will have the chance to develop their personal skills, taking on leadership and speaking opportunities while on the trip. And of course, there will also be time for some sightseeing and fun!

This is a transformative moment for NYAS Cymru and the care-experienced young people involved; we are placing Welsh voices at the centre of international conversations on youth rights. With Taith funding making this vision a reality, we look forward to sharing insights from this global journey and ensuring that the perspectives of care-experienced young people are heard on the world stage.

Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting adventure!
