NYAS Cymru support children and young people to have say about the things that are important to them in their lives, so we can work together to improve services.

Here are some ways young people can get involved in our work:

Bright Sparks Youth Club

This is a group for care experienced children and young people age 11 -25 who are involved with Cardiff Children’s Services.

It’s a great opportunity for young people to meet other care experienced young people, do fun activities and have a say about Cardiff Children’s Services and other organisations.

Due to the current situation we are now meeting online on Thursdays between 4:00-5:00pm.

If you are interested in joining our Bright Sparks group please email our Participation Officer Kerrine Phillips

NYAS Cymru Young Leaders Project

Our “Young Leaders Project” offers young people the chance to train and gain a qualification as a peer advocate or peer mentor, to support other young people who have had similar lived experiences to themselves.

We can also help young people to access youth work courses and get involved in other youth work projects.

There is also an exciting opportunity to work with a former care experienced young person to create a brand new online platform for care experienced young people to get together and receive help and support.

If you would like to get involved in this project please email our Participation Officer Sam Anderson

NYAS Cymru Young Person’s Advisory Group

NYAS makes sure we are keeping children and young people at the heart of everything we do, we have set up a group of young people from across our NYAS Services.

Due to the current situation we are now meeting online every Wednesday between 1:00-2:00pm.

If you are receiving any of our NYAS services and would like to get involved please email Kerrine Phillips

NYAS National Campaigns

NYAS work with national government and local decision makers, across England and Wales, to help them understand the needs of young people. We campaign and influence key decision makers to improve services for care experienced children and young people.

We are looking for care leavers aged 18-25 to join our NYAS Campaigns Advisory Group, full training and support will be provided.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a member of this group please email Sam Anderson for details.
