In partnership with Madlug, this our flagship campaign for 2022 has been shortlisted for ‘The Children in Care Award’ at The Children and Young People Now Awards 2022 and ‘The Partnership Working Award’ at The National Children and Young People Awards 2022.
We are delighted to have been nominated for these prestigious awards as they truly recognise the importance of our My Things Matter campaign. No child should ever have to move their life in a bin bag.

What is the My Things Matter Campaign?
My Things Matter aims to make sure that care experienced children and young people, along with their belongings, are treated with dignity, care and respect whenever they move home.
This campaign is being delivered in partnership with Madlug, a leading UK bag brand, who provide free pack-away travel bags for children in care. Part of their ethos and mission is to ensure that no child in care needs to move home using a bin bag, and that they know their worth. This makes them the perfect partners for the NYAS My Things Matter Campaign.
If you have any further questions about the campaign, or how you can get involved, send our Policy and Campaigns team an email.
It has been a great pleasure working with the members of the Campaigns Advisory Group alongside NYAS! We have achieved so much in getting the voices of young people higher up the ladder to be heard by all, especially those who make decisions about the care we deserve!

When will Award Winners be Announced?
NYAS and Madlug are thrilled to have been shortlisted for these awards and we are keeping our fingers crossed for positive outcomes on 6th October and 24th November 2022 when the winners will be announced.
The My Things Matter campaign is a product of hard work and passion from the young people who volunteered to shape the campaign. With that in mind, we owe this milestone to them.
